If you are going to visit Scotland then a visit to Edinburgh is a must. Not only does it have attractions and events throughtout the year which would occupy all your holiday time but it also provides a great base from which to explore other areas of Scotland if that is your goal.
As an alternative to hotel and bed and breakfast accommodtion you have a wide range of self catering accommodation to choose from in Edinburgh. We have 4 bedroom, 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom flats and also Town Houses which have 3 floors. Many of our self catering properties are flats that were built in the Georgian era which has a very distinctive style, large bright rooms with high ceilings that provide spacious living accommodation. Modern development projects have created new accommodation in central Edinburgh which offers a wide range of properties for holiday rental, from Town Houses (3 floors), Duplex Flats (2 floors) to apartments on one level. Whilst the rooms in these properties may not be as spacious as in their predecessors, many have good built in storage and en-suite facilities which by and large are not a feature in older flats.
A holiday in Edinburgh will mean different things to different people whether it be a city break or a longer stay, the abundance of things to see and do are such that all tastes are catered for. Whether you are in central Edinburgh or you are staying on the outskirts, there is easy access to a number of attractions that you would want to see at any time of the year, not just the Festival or at Christmas and New Year. Access can be via a first class public transport system or via a number of City Sightseeing tour companies. Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo, Royal Mile, Princes Street Gardens, Royal Yacht Britannia, The Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Palace, Scott Monument, Royal Botanic Gardens, Museum of Scotland and the Camera Obscura should all be on your worth seeing list. The views from Arthur's seat, Salisbury Crags and Calton Hill are also worth the hike.
